Is This You?

You already know your craft. Now prove it's worth someone's CPD hours.

If you're delivering masterclasses, webinars, live events or podcasts to fellow beauty professionals, not teaching beginners, CPD Certified by TBP gives your content the independent credibility that gets it booked, trusted, and recommended.

  • You deliver content for professionals who already hold the base skill, not total beginners.
  • You're tired of your masterclass being judged by the same yardstick as a "how to" course.
  • You want attendees walking away with real CPD points, not just a certificate of attendance.
  • You know your content is genuine, first-hand expertise, and want that verified, not assumed.

CPD Certified by TBP is an independent quality mark confirming that a course meets our published CPD standards. It is not a regulated qualification.

The C.H.E.C.K Framework

Every submission to our CPD Certification service is assessed against the below critiera.

C

Credentials

The activity facilitator must hold relevant certificates and qualifications held in the specific subject area. We ask for photographic proof.

H

Hands-On Experience

Facilitors must demonstrate genuine, current industry experience in the discipline, plus evidence of the presenter's own ongoing CPD in the subject area.

E

Educational Content

Learning activity content must reflect genuine, first-hand learnt knowledge not AI-generated or generic material. We look for real examples and case studies drawn from the presenter's own practice.

C

Cover

Valid business and/or public liability insurance will be confirmed and held on file for the duration of certification.

K

Knowledge Gained

Learning materials must be clear, with accessible learning outcomes that genuinely develop a skill the attendee already has not a repeat of beginner-level material.

CPD Certified By TBP vs. TBP Accreditation

At TBP, we deliberately keep CPD Certified by TBP and TBP Accreditation as two separate services. Each reviews different learning activities and follows its own framework. Here's how they compare, side by side.

Our Purpose

Why We Check Every Activity Individually

The beauty industry has real reservations about masterclasses, webinars, events and even ebooks, and with good reason. Without any external review, there's no way to know whether a session reflects genuine, first-hand expertise or has simply been put together and marketed well.

CPD Certified by TBP exists to close that gap. Every submission is checked against our published C.H.E.C.K framework, covering the presenter's credentials, real industry experience, the originality of the content, valid insurance, and clearly stated learning outcomes, so what's being claimed can actually be verified.

Nothing is approved in bulk, and nothing carries the mark without being checked first.

That matters for three reasons. It gives attendees a way to confirm what they're booking reflects genuine, first-hand expertise, not recycled or generic material. It gives you, as the presenter, independent proof of quality you can point to rather than simply claim. And it protects the credibility of CPD across the beauty industry more broadly, at a time when the term gets used loosely and inconsistently.

We review every activity on its own merits, so the mark means the same thing every time someone sees it.

How CPD Points Are Attributed

CPD points reflect structured learning time. This is the amount of genuine, focused educational content an attendee engages with during your session. We use the standard industry convention:

60 mins Structured Learning
=
1 point / 1 CPD Hour

Only time spent on genuine educational content counts. Breaks, administrative time, and promotional segments are not included in the points calculation.

CPD points awarded by TBP reflect independently reviewed learning hours. Acceptance of these points is at the discretion of individual professional bodies and employers. Attendees should check their own body's requirements.

The CPD Certificate

Every attendee of an approved activity can be issued a CPD Certified by TBP certificate acting as proof of the points or hours they've earned, in a fixed TBP format.

Sample CPD Certified by TBP certificate
  • Issued automatically once an activity is approved, ready for you to distribute to attendees.
  • Carries a unique reference number so any certificate can be verified against our records.
  • States the CPD points or hours earned, the activity title, and the presenter's name.
  • Uses a fixed TBP design which keeps every certificate instantly recognisable and consistently trustworthy to employers and professional bodies.
The certificate format cannot be customised with your own branding, logo, or colours. This is intentional: a consistent, unmistakably TBP-issued certificate is what gives it credibility and makes it verifiable at a glance.

Your Investment

CPD Certified by TBP is priced per activity, not as a bundle. What you pay, and whether the activity can be renewed, depends on its format, because a live event, a reusable masterclass, and a published podcast episode all age differently.

Activity Type Initial Fee Validity Renewable? Renewal Fee Renewal Limit
Live Event £75 (one-time) 12 months, covering that single delivery No N/A N/A
Masterclass £100 12 months Yes £50 per renewal Up to 2 renewals (3 years total), then resubmit as new
Webinar £100 12 months Yes £50 per renewal Up to 2 renewals (3 years total), then resubmit as new
Podcast Episode £75 (one-time, per episode) 12 months from recording date No N/A New or updated episodes require a new application

Why live events don't renew

A live event happens once. There's nothing left to re-check a year later, the activity is complete the moment it's delivered.

Why masterclasses & webinars renew twice, then stop

Reusable content earns its keep over repeat deliveries, but industry practice moves on. Capping renewals at two ensures content is refreshed and fully re-reviewed at least every three years.

Why podcasts can't renew

Published audio is very difficult to meaningfully update once it's live. Rather than renew potentially outdated episodes, we require a fresh application for any new or revised content.

7 Working Day Turnaround

From the day we receive a complete application, you'll hear back from us within 7 working days either with your CPD Certified by TBP approval, or with clear feedback on what needs adjusting.

Credibility Sells

Proof beats promises. Here's what the mark does for you.

  • Prove It's Not Generic

Every masterclass claims to be worth attending. Independent review proves yours actually is, genuine expertise, not recycled or AI-written content.

  • Give Them Something To Log

Attendees often leave with nothing but a certificate of attendance. Give them real CPD points they can log with their professional body or employer.

  • Credibility Without The Commitment

Full accreditation is a big undertaking for one session. CPD Certified gives you genuine third-party credibility at a proportionate cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is CPD Certified by TBP the same as TBP Accreditation?
No. TBP Accreditation reviews a full course or academy that teaches a skill from scratch. CPD Certified by TBP reviews a single activity, a masterclass, webinar, event or podcast, for professionals who already hold the base skill. See our comparison above for a full breakdown.
Does this give my attendees a qualification?
No. CPD Certified by TBP does not award a qualification. It confirms your activity has been independently reviewed and allows attendees to log CPD points or hours toward their own professional development.
Who can apply?
Any beauty professional delivering a masterclass, webinar, live event, or podcast aimed at people who already practise the relevant skill. If your content teaches a skill from scratch to beginners, you should apply for TBP Accreditation instead.
What do I need to submit?
Your session details, a copy of your training materials (slides, lesson plan, workbook, or podcast outline), evidence of relevant qualifications and experience, your own CPD log, and a valid insurance certificate. Full details are in our application form.
How long does review take?
7 working days from receipt of a complete application. Missing documents or requested revisions will extend this timeframe.
Can I use my own branding on the attendee certificate?
No. Certificates are issued in a fixed TBP format so they remain consistent and verifiable across every CPD Certified activity. You're welcome to promote your CPD Certified status using our provided badge to promote your approved CPD Activity (only) alongside your own branding.
Can I renew my certification?
It depends on format. Masterclasses and webinars can be renewed up to twice (three years total) before requiring a full new submission. Live events are one-time and cannot be renewed. Podcast episodes and series are valid for 12 months from the recording date and cannot be renewed at all, new or updated episodes require a fresh application.
Why can't podcasts be renewed?
Published audio is very difficult to meaningfully update once it's live. Rather than renew content that may no longer reflect current practice, we ask for a new application for any new or revised episode.
What if some of my content was drafted with AI assistance?
Tell us honestly on your application. We're checking that the session reflects your own genuine, first-hand expertise, light editing assistance is different to content that's entirely generic or AI-written. Submissions that read as generic or lack real, personal examples will not pass the Educational Content check.
What if I don't have business insurance?
Valid public liability or professional indemnity insurance is a required part of the C.H.E.C.K framework. We're unable to approve an application without it.
What if my application doesn't pass?
We'll tell you specifically what didn't meet the standard, so you can revise and resubmit. We don't simply reject without explanation.
Does TBP guarantee I'll enjoy the session, or find it valuable?
No. CPD Certified by TBP confirms the presenter's credentials and the content have been checked against our published framework. It does not assess delivery style or guarantee personal value to any individual attendee, responsibility for the session itself rests with the facilitator.
