How to Become A Beauty Trainer

We understand that it can be minefield finding all the information needed to start offering training courses and open a training academy, the right way.

With lots of conflicting advice online we decided to set the record straight. We want you to know all of the options available to you and so our webinar includes a breakdown on different teaching qualifications and how to get accredited.

We have also provided insight into our specific processes which can be found in the free roadmap or below where we outline the 'steps to become a beauty trainer'.

Steps to Become a Beauty Trainer

Step One: Beauty Qualifications and Experience

You must hold a certificate in the skill you would like to teach with over 1 years experience. We suggest as a rule of thumb that you have performed the treatment at least 100 times. Consider whether you feel like an expert. Are you committed to further learning and elevating yourself to educate others?

If yes then you are in the right place! Move on to step two to see what is expected...

Step Two: Educators Qualification

You must hold a Teaching Qualification such as an accredited educators Qualification, Level 3 AET, PTLLS, PGCE or equivalent. This demonstrates your ability to teach.

If you do not currently hold this certificate you can complete this with us. We have curated our course the Beauty Educators Qualification (Level 3 AET) to provide skills specific to the beauty industry. Our course is 100% online and uses an e-learning platform allowing a more interactive and engaging approach.

Once you have completed this step you can move on to step three.

Step Three: Educators Insurance

It is good practice to have insurance as an educator. This can usually be added onto your existing insurance policy.

As a beauty educator you should ensure your policy covers treatment malpractice and public liability. You can check out our insurance partners to explore your options for insurance.

Step Four: Accreditation

To be accredited by us you will need to submit a copy of the following documents:

  • Our Application Form
  • Your teaching qualification certificate
  • Your qualification for each course
  • Your educators insurance
  • Training manual for each course
  • Lesson plan for each course
  • Written Assessments for theoretical elements of your course.
  • Assessment schedule for each course.

We have created an exclusive Accreditation handbook to support you with creating your course materials. This will be emailed to you after purchase.

We do also offer accreditation for online courses.

Our list of courses outlines which courses qualify for online accreditation. You must gain insurance for online training before submitting an application for online beauty training.

There is a one off £19 fee for online accreditation per course (No renewal fee).

You can add online accreditation at the time of purchase or at any point during your accreditation with us (this will be valid for the same time period as your initial accreditation).

For Online Course add-on you will need to provide:

  • All of the above
  • Online course insurance confirmation
  • Step by Step Video tutorials
  • Breakdown on how your online course will work.

Assessment for online courses must include a minimum of 3 case studies which include photographic or video evidence of the before and after from multiple angles.

We are unable to guarantee insurance for online accreditation. Please contact our insurance providers directly.
